Gynaecology with Elise

When you are referred to me for a Women's Health concern you will have continuity of care and individualised care.

Your initial appointment will be longer than usual so that I can take a comprehensive history, perform a gynaecological examination and talk to you about treatment options.  There are often several options to manage women's health problems ranging from conservative measures such as dietary changes and physiotherapy, to medication and sometimes surgery.   If you decide to have surgery this will usually be performed at The Mater Hospital in Hyde Park but sometimes I will perform your surgery at The Mater Hospital in Pimlico or the Townsville Day Surgery centre.   Most of the time it isn't essential to make a decision about care on the spot.  I am very happy to provide you with the space and time to consider your options so that you make the decision that is right for you.

Occasionally, a women will have a condition that requires input from a sub-specialist gynaecologist.   This includes problems such as gynaecology cancers, severe vaginal mesh complications, stress incontinence requiring insertion of a mesh trans-vaginal tape and excision of severe/stage 4 endometriosis.  If you require sub-specialist care I will perform all necessary initial investigations and then refer you to one of my sub-specialist colleagues.

I look forward to meeting you so that we can work together to manage your Gynaecological concerns.
